This X-Series IR720 Infrared Filter from Zuma passes infrared light while completely blocking other wavelengths of light in the visible spectrum. Unlike the eye, silicon- based CCD and CMOS image sensors have sensitivities extending into the near-infrared, which may extend to 1000nm. Digital cameras are typically equipped with an IR-blocking filter to prevent unnatural-looking images.
